Elizabeth Banks Jarrell
Elizabeth “Betty” Banks Jarrell, 104, of LaGrange died Friday, May 15, 2009, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Jarrell was born December 1, 1904, in Grantville, GA, daughter of the late Thomas "Bobo" Banks and Bessie Cotton Banks. She had lived in LaGrange since 1931 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange. Mrs. Jarrell was active in the U.M.W. for many years, was a Red Cross volunteer at West Georgia Medical Center, a member of the Troup County Historical Society, a member of the U.D.C., and a patron of the LaGrange Woman’s Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Jarrell.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jarrell Oetjen of Madison, AL; son, William F. Jarrell, Jr. of Maui, HI; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held today, May 18, 2009, in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
